Flooding Kerala

In August over 200 people were killed inward Kerala past times the worst flooding to hitting the Indian state inward over 100 years. One ground for the dramatic flooding was that many of Kerala's hydroelectric dams were forced to unloosen H2O amongst lilliputian alert to those who alive downriver from the dams.
Reuters has been investigating why the waters inward Kerala's dams were also high earlier the monsoon struck. In How Kerala's Dams Failed to Prevent Catastrophe the word organization has mapped the locations of all the state's dams too inward detail the Idukki & Idamalayar reservoirs too the Periya River. Reuters argues that if the H2O levels inward these ii reservoirs had been lowered prior to the commencement of the monsoon hence they could convey coped amongst the pelting that brutal inward the August storms.
Because the H2O levels inward the Idukki & Idamalayar reservoirs were at 90% of their capacity earlier the August monsoon they both rapidly reached capacity subsequently the rains began. Both reservoirs were hence forced to unloosen H2O into the Periya River. The lawsuit was the severe flooding of communities living along the river.
